Basil Konstantine Poledouris (21 August 1945 8 November 2006; age 61) was an Emmy-award winning composer of soundtracks such as The Hunt for Red October (1990, with Ronald Guttman, Gates McFadden, Daniel Davis, Timothy Carhart, and Boris Lee Krutonog), Free Willy (1993, with Lori Petty and Richard Riehle), Conan the Barbarian (1982), RoboCop (1987, with Ronny Cox, Robert DoQui, Miguel Ferrer. Across the Stars is a total waste of manuscript paper. There's no playing around. It is a plain copy of the theme from 'Sommersby' by Danny Elfman and uses the same tone variation in 'Conan the Barbarian' by Basil Poledouris. It doesn't sound anything like Conan the Barbarian.
